Man City Consider Selling Of Jack Grealish In A Shocking Report

Manchester City are reportedly considering selling of Jack Grealish a few years after the Englishman joined the club in a mega-money move from Aston Villa.

Grealish was the best Aston Villa player at the time with his free-flowing attacking football. He has, however, moved from being an attacking-minded player to a more conservative one at the Etihad Stadium. As a result, his goal contributions have dropped drastically.

Last season, which could be described as his best in Sky-Blue shirt, the Englishman scored five goals and provided 11 assists in 49 matches across all competitions. This was not impressive when it is compared to his last season at Aston Villa when he had 10 assists and 7 goals in 27 appearances.

According to Football Insider, Manchester City are not convinced with the performance of the winger and will be willing to listen to offers from other clubs who show interest in his service. The report says, Man City will, however, not sell him for a cheap price after paying £100 million for his service in 2021.

Jack Grealish Replacement At Man City

Pep Guardiola bought Jeremy Doku last summer and the Belgian served as Grealish’s competitor, he, however, may become a perfect replacement for the Englishman should the speculation about him leaving Etihad becomes a reality.

Doku is known for his directness and ability to take on defenders. The 21-year-old winger is gradually becoming an important player for Pep Guardiola after he struggled at the start of the season.

He now has 13 goal contributions across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and provided 8 assists. He was a joy to watch in his recent matches against Luton Town, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for the winger after his impact against Chelsea despite playing just a few minutes. He was instrumental to the City’s goal and a similar thing happened in the mid-week against Real Madrid.

“Jeremy [Doku] is an incredible, exceptional, exceptional player,” the City manager said. “For the quality in one against ones, close to the box, he’s unbelievable. He’s young and has to improve in many things but in the final third he’s massively important for us.”

“Always when he came on from the bench his impact was not good. From the starting eleven he was good but from the bench he was not good. We talked about that, that he has to make an impact because the players are tired and he has a special quality one against one.

“He changed the game [against Chelsea] and against Real Madrid as well – we made them drop deep and we created a lot of chances,” as per BeanymanSports
