Man City vs Brighton: Pundit Predicts Match Result Amid Title Race

Manchester City will continue their quest to win the Premier League title on Thursday against Brighton & Hove Albiona and BBC pundit Chris Sutton predicted a match result that goes in favour of Pep Guardiola and his men.

The Cityzens will need to display their utmost performance at Falmer Stadium on April 25th in order to get all three points, thereby maintaining their aspiration of achieving an incredible record of four consecutive league titles.

The Emirates FA Cup semi-final match against Chelsea last weekend could be deemed as one of the Manchester City most subpar showings of the season. However, their inability to be at their usual best was attributed to exhaustion caused by their participation in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final encounter with Real Madrid a mere three days before the FA Cup match.

Speaking ahead of the Premier League champions match against Brighton & Hove Albiona, Chris Sutton, said he understands perfectly while Pep Guardiola’s were not at their best against Chelsea. He, however, said they will have to put the weekend performance behind them to secure a win on Thursday.

“City are, apparently, extremely tired but I looked at their bench for their FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and it wasn’t too bad for a team that is so fatigued,” the pundit wrote, according to Sportskeeda “The Brighton of last season would have been very awkward opponents for Manchester City, but I am not so sure they offer the ame test this year.”

“Still, there is no margin of error for Pep Guardiola’s side. They have the advantage in the title race at the moment but even a draw changes things completely at the top of the table, so the pressure is on,” Sutton added as he predict a 2-0 victory for Man City.

Battle For The League Title Gets More Interesting

The Premier League title race might eventually go down as the best in the history of the English top-flight league. The battle for the glory involved three teams contrary to the two-horse race witnessed in the previous seasons.

Pep Guardiola and Arnold

While Manchester City are determined to win the title, both Liverpool and Arsenal have high chances of claiming the title. For Mikel Arteta’s side, it will be the first league trophy in 20 years while for Liverpool, it will be the second in more than 30 years. Therefore, each of the three team are determined to finish the season as champions.

The failure of Pep Guardiola’s team to take part in Premier League matches last weekend gave Arsenal and Liverpool the opportunity to reclaim the first and second position respectively with 74 points each.

The lead may be extended when Arsenal welcome Chelsea to Emirate Stadium on Tuesday and Liverpool secure a victory against Everton the next day before the Manchester City match against Brighton.
