Grealish Leaving Man City? Fabrizio Romano Gives Fresh Update

There is speculation circulating that Jack Grealish may depart from Manchester City in the upcoming summer. Rumors have suggested that the Premier League champions would not hesitate to part ways with the Englishman if a suitable offer were to be presented.

The English international was among the standout performers for Manchester City during the previous season, playing a pivotal role in their treble-winning campaign, which notably included their first-ever UEFA Champions League victory.

Despite his valuable contributions to the team, Football Insider reported that Man City are considering parting ways with the ex-Aston Villa player. The report indicates that the City leadership has expressed doubts regarding his performances since joining the Sky Blues, consequently, he may be granted permission to leave.

Furthermore, Simon Phillips, a reputable football journalist, asserted that the prospective acquisition of Jack Grealish was deliberated upon within the confines of Chelsea FC. He emphasized Chelsea’s current requirement for a skilled winger, with Grealish being earmarked as a viable candidate for recruitment during the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Another winger I am told has been internally discussed at Chelsea recently, is Manchester City’s Jack Grealish. The 28-year-old has been linked with a return to his former club Aston Villa in recent weeks, and due to his bit-part role at City, there is a belief in the industry that he will be available for transfer this summer and also, he is likely to be open to moving to another club where he will have a more important role at.”

However, in contrast to the speculation, Fabrizio Romano stated that the future of the Englishman was not a topic of discussion at the Etihad. He asserted that the club show no indication that they will part ways with Grealish in the summer.

The football journalist mentioned that he lacks insider information on the prospective transfer of Grealish to Chelsea during the forthcoming summer transfer window. But he can confirm that there have been no talks about his future at Manchester City.

“I’m aware there have been some slightly surprising links with Jack Grealish [and Chelsea]. However, I have zero information on this – Manchester City are not discussing Grealish’s future, not even internally at this point of the season.”

Jack Grealish Struggles To Improve His Goal-Scoring Ability

The Manchester City winger has not succeeded in improving his proficiency in scoring goals, but it is justifiable to say that he contributes significantly more to Pep Guardiola’s team beyond scoring and creating opportunities for his fellow players. The Englishman brings more stability to City’s attack and his off ball performance, especially in tracking back, is impressive.

This season, Grealish has found the back of the net just three times and also provided three assists in 22 starts and 31 total appearances. This is significantly low when compared to other players in his position.

In 19 starts and 38 total appearances, Jeremy Doku has five goals and 8 assists despite this campaign being his first season in England. The Belgian is just three assists away from equal Jack Grealish’s last season record which can be described as his best in a City shirt.
