“We Have Six Finals” – Pep Guardiola Warns Man City Players

Pep Guardiola warns Man City players ahead of their remaining Premier League matches. The City boss described the last six league matches of the season as finals which they they must win to retain the League title.

One of the six fixtures is scheduled for Thursday against Brighton and Hove Albion, with a victory potentially putting pressure on the current league leaders, Arsenal. The Gunners currently hold a four-point advantage over Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have competed in two additional matches. They emerged victorious against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend and delivered a crushing blow to Chelsea in a 5-0 triumph at the Emirates Stadium during the mid-week fixture.

“Still we have six finals in the Premier League, and after we have one week to prepare for the final,” the City boss said while speaking about the forthcoming FA Cup final and the remaining league matches during his pre-match conference ahead of Brighton game.

Guardiola Admits Arsenal And Liverpool Gives Man City Chance To Win League Again

Manchester City have maintained an unblemished record in the league thus far this year. The Cityzens’ most recent loss occurred at the hands of Aston Villa on December 6, 2023. In contrast, rival teams in the league have faltered and surrendered crucial points in recent weeks, presenting Pep Guardiola’s squad with an opportunity to claim the title once more.

While Arsenal suffered a setback against Aston Villa, Liverpool has experienced two defeats recently. They were defeated by Crystal Palace prior to succumbing to Everton in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday.

The loss to Everton leaves Liverpool potentially trailing Man City by five points, should Pep Guardiola’s team secure wins in their two outstanding matches.

Speaking about whether Manchester City have to be perfect in the Premier League and if they have chance to win it again, Pep Guardiola answered: “Yeah, absolutely. They gave us a chance.”

“The fact that they lost in the last weeks against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, but we know exactly what we should do then, before those games, and now. We have to win all our games to be, at the end, have a chance in our hands to retain the title. Nothing changes for the fact that what we should do before, and now. Nothing changed.”
