FA Cup Final: Man United Suffer Injury Setback Ahead Of Man City Match

Manchester United have suffered another injury setback ahead of the Emirate FA Cup final against Manchester City on the 25th of the month. Erik Ten Hag is struggling with the fitness of many first team players, and it was reported that Harry Maguire has joined the injury list.

The England national team player sustained a muscle injury during a training session, which is predicted to rule him out for a period of 3 weeks. Consequently, he may join the list of players who have already been ruled out of the forthcoming Wembley clash against local rivals, Manchester City.

Mail Sport reported that Maguire will be fit enough to be part of England’s squad for the forthcoming EURO, but might have played his final match for the Red Devils this season.

With Maguire absence, Manchester United’s injury crisis will force Erik ten Hag to continue using Casemiro as an emergency center-back. Lisandro Martínez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof will all be unavailable on Monday against Crystal Palace. And the match may come too soon for Jonny Evans who returned to training during the weekend.

Manchester City Face Red Devils In The FA Cup Final For The Second Consecutive Time

Both Manchester-based teams will once again face each other in the final of the FA Cup. In the previous season, Manchester United were unable to prevent their local rivals from securing a victory on their way to winning their first-ever treble.

Pep Guardiola’s team were victorious after overcoming Manchester United with a score of 2-1. Ilkay Gundogan had an incredible game as he swiftly broke the deadlock with a magnificent goal within the first few seconds. Bruno Fernandes, however, equalised with a penalty kick at the 33rd minute.

Gündogan further ensured that Manchester City departed the National Stadium with the trophy by netting the decisive goal off a sublime assist from Kevin De Bruyne.

On May 25, Manchester City will be missing the Germany international player who moved to Barcelona during the last summer window, while Manchester United will be without David de Gea, who made remarkable saves during the game.
