Phil Foden Sends Warning, Reveals Man City Target After UCL Setback

Phil Foden sends warning to Manchester City’s competitors, Liverpool and Arsenal, asserting that the objective at Etihad Stadium is to establish an unprecedented legacy by securing four consecutive Premier League trophies.

Manchester City will undoubtedly be regarded as one of the most exceptional teams to have graced the English Premier League. Under the leadership of Pep Guardiola, the Sky Blues have emerged as a formidable force in England, clinching more domestic titles than any other club and securing their third consecutive league title last season.

Phil Foden claimed that the team remain committed in their pursuit of winning the league title this season and establishing an unparalleled record. Despite acknowledging the monumental challenge ahead, they are confident in their ability to triumph, with a win in each of their forthcoming six league fixtures securing them another championship victory.

Furthermore, the recent midweek exit from the UEFA Champions League may serve as a driving force for Pep Guardiola’s squad in their pursuit of the title. Their elimination at the hands of Real Madrid on Wednesday, due to their inability to convert two penalty kicks compared to only one missed by their Spanish opponents, could potentially fuel their determination in domestic competition.

“We understand it here. We know if we win the Premier League this time we will have done something new. It’s something we have our eyes on,” Phil Foden said during an exclusive interview with Mail Sport.

The City Academy graduate and England international, now a frequent starter for the senior team, disclosed that they draw motivation from the inscriptions adorning the walls each time they step foot on the training grounds.

“Every time we put our boots on at the training ground that saying is there on the wall. It says: ‘Nobody has won four Premier Leagues in a row…yet’.

“We want to put ourselves in history. Every day I sit and look at that slogan and I think: ‘Why not?’.”

The Cityzens are presently regarded as the favourites to win the league, having garnered a two-point edge over their opponents during the previous weekend. Nevertheless, with six fixtures left on their schedule, they cannot afford to concede points since it would provide Arsenal or Liverpool with an opening to surpass them in the rankings.

Moreover, Jurgen Klopp and Mike Arteta remain resolute despite their recent elimination from European competitions. They are determined to mount a significant challenge in the title race against Pep Guardiola and his players.

We Have Good Chance – Jurgen Klopp Declares Ahead Of Final Six Matches

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp holds firm to his conviction that his team have a realistic chance of claiming the league title despite trailing Manchester City by two points. The esteemed boss, who is in his final season at Anfield, maintains that while the challenge ahead is not without its difficulties, it remains within their grasp.

Liverpool and Arsenal will have the chance to regain their position at the top of the league this weekend, given that Manchester City will be absent from league duty to their participation in the Emirate FA Cup. Therefore, a victory for either Liverpool or Mikel Arteta’s squad would give them a two-point edge over Cityzens who will a game in hand.

“It’s not obviously in our hands, it is not about that. I think if we would win all our games, there is a good chance we will be champion. If not, there is a good chance someone else will be champion,” Klopp said during his pre-match press conference ahead of their match against Fulham.
