“More Years” – Erling Haaland Reveals His Future Plan At Man City

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland revealed his future plan at Man City, particularly his desire to continue working with Pep Guardiola for more years.

The Norwegian striker joined the Premier League champions in the summer of 2022 and had an incredible debut season. His contributed to the treble winning Pep Guardiola’s side, created many records, both in the League and in the European competitions.

Haaland won the English top-flight Golden Boot last season and can win it again this campaign even though he’s struggling to replicate last season form. He has 21 league goals this campaign, a goal more than the second place, Cole Palmer.

He netted his 21st goal against Nottingham Forest after coming on for Jack Grealish in the 62nd minute of the match. The ex-Borussia Dortmund forward secured the 2-0 triumph as the home team gained momentum and intensified their attack on the Sky Blues.

Speaking after the match, Haaland said Pep Guardiola has done so much for him, and he will ready to work with the Spanish manager for more years. He told City+ via Manchester Evening News: “He’s done great things [for me], he’s a truly special one. I enjoy working with him and hopefully will for some more years.”

Manchester City have five remaining fixtures in the current season, including four in the English Premier League and the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester United. The outcome of these remaining matches will ultimately dictate the level of success achieved in their campaign.

According to Erling Haaland, the five upcoming matches are crucial for the Cityzens to secure victories. He emphasized that both his teammates and he will play significant roles in determining the outcome of the season’s final battles, regardless of who manages to score.

“We need every single player now,” Haaland said. “From the bench, people who start, everyone. There’s five more finals left [including the FA Cup final]. Focus on the next one. It’s about winning now. It doesn’t matter who scores and who doesn’t.”

Pep Guardiola Happy To Have Erling Haaland Back From Injury

Manchester City were without their top striker in the previous two matches. The Norwegian missed the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea due to an injury sustained during the 120 minutes second-leg match against Rea Madrid in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.

The Cityzens were eliminated from the European competition during the penalty shootout but bounced back with a narrow victory against Chelsea a few days later.

Also, Haaland did not fit enough to take part in the City 4-0 demolition of Brighton. Therefore, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was happy to have him back against Nottingham Forest.

“It is important that he is back and doing what he does,” he said. “Kevin [De Bruyne] found him and it was a really good finish. He was not ready for 90 minutes but it was good for him to be back.”
