Arteta Will Not Give Up – Pep Guardiola Declares Ahead Of Final Match

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, insisted Mikel Arteta will not give up on the title race and will try to secure all the three points against Everton on the final match day of the season.

The Cityzens and Arsenal are once again contending for the Premier League winning medals. What initially appeared to be a three-way competition has now narrowed down to a duel between Guardiola and his former assistant, as Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool fell behind in the race.

Going into the final match day, both the Gunners and the Sky Blues stand a chance to win the title. Should Manchester City drop points against West Ham United, Arsenal will become champions if they defeated Everton on the same day.

However, the title race is in the hand of Pep Guardiola and his boys, who are determined to win the trophy for the record fourth time in a row. But the City manager believes that Mikel Arteta will not surrender yet in the race.

“What can I say? He’s an incredible manager what they have done this season with Arsenal,” he commended his former assistant via a report by Metro.

‘And he will not give up, they will try to win against Everton and wait what happens. But it’s what we want, the game depends on us.”

Man City overcome Tottenham Hotspur last Tuesday to move above Arsenal in the league standings and Erling Haaland, who scored a brace to give City the victory, admitted that the match was difficult.

The Norwegian forward admitted to feeling a slight sense of unease during the match, as they found themselves overthinking the game. However, they managed to clinch all the essential points in the end.

“They’re a fantastic team,” Haaland said of Spurs. “You know everyone knows that they want to play all the time and all praise to them. It was really difficult, but yeah, we came here to try and win and we won. That’s my only thing, and I’m happy.

“I think we were a bit nervous. I think that’s normal, there’s a lot of emotions for everyone. Everyone knows the situation, but it’s about not thinking too much. Try to focus on your things to do and try to win”’
