Manchester City Suffer A Major Injury Blow, Top Player To Miss Final Match

Manchester City suffer a major injury blow as they prepare to face West Ham United in a must-win Premier League match on the final match day. The Cityzens must secure all the three points at home to become the league champions.

Pep Guardiola’s men move closer to the league title after a hard fought victory against Tottenham Hotspurs in the midweek. They defeated the Spurs at their stadium, winning at the Stadium for the first time after many attempts.

However, the Manchester City goalkeeper who started the Tottenham match will be unbelievable for the rest of the season after he was confirmed to suffer a fracture to his eye socket.

The Brazilian had an incredible match against Tottenham. He prevented the host team from scoring with some fantastic saves but couldn’t finish the match due to a collision with Cristian Romero.

Pep Guardiola had to replace him with Stefan Ortega who also made some good saves to make sure the Premier League champions left North London with all the needed points.

Even though, Ederson was furious about him being replaced during the match, but the decision turned out to be the best as the club doctor had spotted the eye injury and was concerned he could suffer blurred vision.

According to The Sun, the Brazil international will miss the final match day against West Ham United and will not be available against Manchester United in the FA Cup final six days later.

Manchester City will remain the favourites to win the two matches even without their first choice goalkeeper. Ortega has earned the trust of Pep Guardiola and his teammates; therefore, the team would have to worry about Ederson’s absence.

Guardiola was full of praise for the German goalkeeper after the 2-0 victory against Tottenham, commending those who worked to bring him to Man City.

“Since he arrives he plays in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, even this season Ederson has four set-backs for injuries and he is always so reliable. He’s an incredible, incredible keeper, so our keeper trainer made an incredible decision to bring him here,” Pep said.
