Real Madrid Ready To Sign Man City Midfielder, Arsenal Show Interest

Real Madrid ready to sign Man City midfielder Bernardo Silva in what could be described as a surprise transfer deal should the speculation becomes a reality in the summer.

Silva is undoubtedly one of the most important players in Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad, he played the full 120 minutes against Real Madrid last week Wednesday and was also on the pitch for the whole 90 minutes in the Emirate FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea three days later.

His working rate for the Premier League champions is top-notch, and Pep Guardiola understands how significant the Portuguese is to the team recent success. Speaking about the match against Chelsea, Pep said he thought of changing Bernardo but decided against it due to his football knowledge and defensive work rate even when he was tired.

“I was thinking to change and put Oscar on the right. Even tired he’s so intelligent to keep the ball, defensively, in the final third he’s so intuitive. Having him on the pitch, I feel more safe, I feel more comfortable,” as reported by BeanymanSports.

Meanwhile, despite his contributions to the team and how the coach appreciates his efforts, Bernardo has reportedly decided to leave Manchester City in the summer.

The Portuguese wanted to leave during the last summer window, but City were reluctant to entertain any deal and the move totally collapsed when Riyad Mahrez and IIkay Gündogan left the club during the same transfer business.

Ahead of the next summer transfer window, Real Madrid have reportedly shown interest and are ready to meet his £50 million release clause. The Daily Star claim that Los Blancos are ready to go for Silva, regarding the versatile midfielder as a ‘perfect fit’ at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The midfielder has been linked to a number of top clubs. A report says he has make inquiries about life in Barcelona as he eyes a move to FC Barcelona. Also, he once said he would like to return to Benfica, his boyhood club before he retires.

Arsenal Reportedly Join Race For Bernardo Silva Signature

In another surprising transfer speculation, Arsenal are set to have also shown interest in signing the 29-year-old midfielder. The Gunners reportedly wanted to add him to their midfielders to give more options to manager Mikel Arteta.

However, in his daily briefing via GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano claimed that there was little information on Silva’s potential move to the Emirates and that Man City will not sell their star man to a rival, particularly due to the recent Premier League title race between the two clubs.

“Arsenal did well when they signed both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City almost two years ago, and now there’s been speculation from some outlet about them trying again to raid City, this time for Bernardo Silva.

“Sorry to disappoint any Arsenal fans who had got their hopes up, but I have zero information on Arsenal and Bernardo so far, to be honest. The Portugal international’s release clause is there for £50million but obviously, Man City don’t want Bernardo to stay in the Premier League and play for one of their rivals.”
