Silva Leaving Man City? Guardiola To Replace Him With Another Superstar

There are speculations that Bernardo Silva may finally leave Manchester City at the end of the season having been linked with a move away from England since 2021.

Last summer, the Portuguese was linked with a move to Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, and many other European clubs, but later decided to extend his contract with the reigning Premier League champions. However, some reports have suggested the deal was done with the aim of moving him on in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Some media outlets suggested that Silva could follow his former teammates, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte to the Saudi Pro League, therefore, City have to prepare for life without the Portuguese.

According to the Telegraph, Pep Guardiola has identified Brazilian midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, as the perfect replacement for Silva. The West Ham player was said to be ready for a move to Manchester City should there be a deal agreement between the Cityzens and the Hammers.

Paqueta was valued at £80 million last summer, and although City were unwilling to pay such an amount to sign the Brazilian, the FA investigation for potential betting-rule breaches forced the Cityzens to stop the negotiation and instead wait for the outcome of the investigation.

However, with no sanction from the FA and a possibility of losing Bernardo Silva at the end of the season, Manchester City will return to negotiate a suitable deal for Paqueta in the summer.

West Ham paid £50 million for the former AC Milan and Lyon star and will be keen on raking in a hefty profit if they are to part ways with a player who has become an important player for them in recent seasons.

Manchester City have reportedly perfected the deal to bring another Brazilian Star, Savio who is on loan at Girona from Troyes to Etihad Stadium next summer.
