Ruben Dias Sends Brutal Words To Critics Praying For Man City Downfall

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias claimed that many people in recent years have developed a hatred for the Cityzens and are eager to bring the team down. He, however, said their criticism and hatred would only make the team stronger as they hope to have another successful season.

Ruben Dias and Pep Guardiola

Ruben Dias was one of the prominent players behind Manchester City’s recent success, he was instrumental during the City’s treble-winning campaign and the current winning streak of Pep Guardiola’s side.

The reigning Premier League champions have won the last five league games – nine in all competitions – and have a fully fit squad that features Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland once again. They are two points behind league leader, Liverpool, and also in the knockout stage of the Emirate FA Cup as well as the UEFA Champions League.

According to Ruben Dias, the more successful you are, the more enemies you attract, therefore, City’s detractors have increased in numbers in recent years.

“People love to talk and the more you win, the more successful you are as a team and an individual, and the more people want to take you down,” the Portugal international told the Manchester Evening News.

“Please make noise around us because it will just make it bigger every time we win again. That’s purely how I take it. There has been a noise before and people love the scenario of us not making it but we love doing it.”

Dias insisted that they would go for all possible trophies once again despite everything they achieved last season. “There’s nothing in our minds saying ‘we’ve won a treble, we are so good, it’s going to be easy now’. It is exactly the opposite; it’s going to be more difficult,” he said.

“There is going to be more hatred and more people trying to take us down and there are going to be more opponents. We take it as it is because this is the normal process of winning. We will be ready for it.”
