Real Madrid Ready To Sign Pep Guardiola’s Favourite Player At Man City

The Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly shown interest in one of Pep Guardiola’s favourite players at Manchester City even though there is a high possibility that the deal will fail.

According to a report from Spain, Real Madrid would like to add Phil Foden to the list of talented players at the team next season and would be ready to splash a huge amount of money to lure him out of the Etihad Stadium if Manchester City will entertain any offer.

Foden has become a different player entirely this season. He has levelled up his game to become one of the most exciting players to watch across Europe’s top five leagues, therefore, being speculated with a move to the 14 times UEFA Champions League winners is understandable.

A report by the Real Madrid-focussed outlet Defensa Central revealed that the Spanish giants are ‘working hard’ to ‘persuade’ the Englishman to join them from Manchester City this summer, despite his known long-lasting allegiance to the Etihad Stadium club.

The report explains that Real Madrid’s chief scout Juni Calafat is making the signing of Phil Foden a priority for the club next season.

However, the deal may be impossible considering how much Foden loves Manchester City and has been at the club since he was 4. The England international once stated that he would like to remain at the club for the rest of his career.

In 2021, Foden who has now become a Pep Guardiola’s favourite player told BBC Sport, “I can only see myself playing for Manchester City, considering how much I’ve supported them from a young age.

“It always helps when you play for a club you support. When I was younger, it was a dream to play for the club, so never did I think I would make it to 100 appearances so early. I gave the shirt from that game to my family and they got it framed.”
