Phil Foden Sends Clear Message to Guardiola After His Hat-trick

Manchester City superstar Phil Foden has made it clear to Pep Guardiola where he would like to be playing despite having the ability to play in different positions on the pitch.

The Englishman was instrumental to City’s latest form. He has on different occasions come to the rescue of the team, particularly in difficult situations.

As Pep Guardiola’s side are preparing to welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium for this weekend’s Premier League match, it must be noted that Phil Foden was the hero the last time the two clubs met.

City conceded an early goal during their trip to Goodison Park in December. However, Foden found the back of the net with a powerful low shot in the 53 minutes. The Cityzens later won 3-1 as Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva registered their names on the score sheet.

The talented player operated at the midfield at Goodison Park and would like to keep his place at the heart of the City midfield in the return leg on Saturday.

Phil Foden also performed excellently playing along Kevin De Bruyne at midfield against Brentford. He scored a hat-trick against the Bees to give his side 3-1 win in a dramatic comeback last Monday.

Speaking after the match, Foden said: “I’m really delighted with my performances at the moment,” Foden said. “I’m playing a lot of minutes now and playing more inside now. I’m delighted with how I’m playing. This is the best form I’ve probably had in a (Manchester) City shirt for a long time consistently.”

He continued, “Long may that continue and continue working hard on the training pitch and I’ll keep trying to get better. I’m a person who adapts and will play a lot of positions when needed. I know in this side I will play a lot of positions and I have to be ready.”
