Foden has improved his game this campaign and could be described as the current best player in the Manchester City squad. The Englishman has on different occasions come to the rescue of the whole team and keep them in a better position to be among the league title contenders.

He was once again at his best against Manchester United. He scored two goals to put the Cityzens in a comfortable leading position before Erling Haaland sealed the victory with a late goal to make it a 3-1 victory against their local rivals.

Speaking after the match, the Englishman revealed that Pep Guardiola instructed him to switch wings with Bernardo Silva. Therefore, he moved to the right side of their attacking set-up and a few minutes later, he registered his name on the score sheet with a powerful shot that left Andrew Onana with no chance of saving the goal.

“Yeah, the manager said switch sides with Bernardo (Silva),” revealed Phil Foden. “I switched and not long after I managed to score the second goal.”

Pep Guardiola while speaking after the match commended Phil Foden’s talents and ability to play anywhere at the front. He claimed that the Englishman has improved his game this season and without a doubt, he is the best player in the Premier League.

“He can play middle, right, make moments and cut inside, play in the left, scoring from the left. What can I say? He is the best player in the Premier League right now for the amount of things he does. Unbelievable,” the City manager said.

Foden has scored 11 League goals this season and also provided 7 assists as he’s having one of his best seasons since he graduated into the Manchester City senior team.
