Pep Guardiola Delivers Blunt Response Over Kevin De Bruyne’s Future

Kevin De Bruyne’s future at Manchester City remains uncertain amid the transfer speculations linking him to the Saudi Pro League. The fact that the Belgian only has a year left on his contract with the City contributed to the rumours.

Pep speaks on Kevin De Bruyne's future

Despite the speculations about his future at Manchester, the midfielder continues to deliver at the highest level even though he recently returned from more than four months of injury.

He continues to provide key goals and assists as City find themselves on a 17-game unbeaten streak in all competitions. And the success of the club this campaign will depend largely on his performance, particularly in big matches.

As a result of this, Pep Guardiola insisted that he would like to keep the Belgian beyond next summer, claiming that despite his age, he remains an important player at the club.

He, however, said he did not know what the future holds for his talisman, stating that he did not know if he had received offers from Saudi Arabia as reported, but he would love to keep him.

“It’s a question for him,” Guardiola said. “I would love that he stays, but I don’t know. I listen, yeah, from some links, but I don’t know if he has an offer.

“I don’t know if Saudi Arabia wants him, I don’t know. I would love for him to stay here, of course. But everyone is everyone.”

Manchester City will hope to put the controversies surrounding Kevin De Bruyne’s future behind them tonight when they face Luton Town in the Emirate FA Cup tonight.

Also, they will need to be at their best this coming weekend when they welcome their local rivals Manchester United to Etihad Stadium in a must-win Premier League clash.
