Manchester City players are heading to their countries for the two-week international break and will have only three days to prepare for the crucial match.

To Pep Guardiola, the break could be a great way for his players to prepare for the forthcoming match. The Catalan said it will afford some players to meet with their families and give them a change of environment.

According to the Mirror, when the City boss was quizzed about the upcoming fixtures, he replied: “We have a final against Arsenal.”

“But for now we rest. I don’t want to think about the future – it has been such an intense period.

“With the players [going on international duty] a change of environment is good, some of them will be allowed to see their families.

“When we come back, we have three days to prepare for the game against Arsenal. Let’s go.”

Last campaign, Manchester City prevented Arsenal from winning their first-ever Premier League title in 20 years. The Gunners were the favourite to lift the title until the last few matches of the season when they succumbed to pressure and allowed the Cityzens to win the title for the third time in a row.

While Mikel Arteta’s men are still in search of Premier League title, Pep Guardiola’s side on the other hand are determined to create history by winning the trophy for the fourth time consecutively.

Therefore, both teams have everything to fight for when they face each other for the third time this campaign. Arsenal emerged victorious in their last two meetings. A penalty shootout during the Community Shield and a 1-0 victory at the Emirate Stadium in the first leg of the Premier League match.
