Manchester City captain Kyle Walker admits that it is difficult to get a victory at Anfield. In fact, he has never won there as a player during his career as a Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City player.

The defender will have another opportunity to change the narrative on Sunday when Manchester City travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in a crucial Premier League match which may decide the title winners.

Liverpool who are currently the league leader are the favourite, particularly with poor records of Pep Guardiola’s men at Anfield. The Cityzens under the Catalan have only won once at Anfield, and Kyle Walker was not part of the team.

Therefore, the England international will hope to put the bad record behind him on Sunday and secure all the crucial three points that will send his team to the top of the league table.

“I’ve never won there, never,” he said, speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE. “Never won there with no team. [Riyad] Mahrez could have changed that but he skied it, the penalty.”

Walker commended Liverpool’s fan base, stating that they an incredible when it comes to giving the opponents a tough time at Anfield. “Listen, they’ve had some good players and I think their fans are incredible, it’s one thing I do say, that the fans are really good. Just never won.”

Also, speaking about the title race between Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal, Kyle Walker said he would prefer Liverpool to become champions to Arsenal in case they were not able to win it at the end.

“It is so hard, I don’t want Arsenal to win, because of Tottenham,” the City captain said, trying to side with his former club.
