Man City vs Aston Villa: Pep Guardiola Out To Keep Incredible Record

Manchester City will welcome Aston Villa to Etihad Stadium on Wednesday and Pep Guardiola will hope to guide his team to a winning way after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Stadium on Sunday.

The Wednesday match has become a must-win for the Cityzens to be in the title race and particularly to preserve their impressive record at their home ground.

Manchester City are unbeaten at the Stadium this season, many top teams across Europe have suffered humiliation whenever they visit the Blue side of Manchester. Even on difficult days, Pep Guardiola’s men would settle for a draw and did everything to avoid losing at home.

Undoubtedly, Pep Guardiola and his boys will be out to preserve the record on Wednesday and avoid Aston Villa from doing a double over them in the league this season.

The Cityzens suffered a shocking defeat during their last visit to Villa Park. Aston Villa came out victorious as Bailey scored the only goal of the match in the 74 minutes and successfully took all the 3 points.

However, Premier League pundit Robbie Savage did not foresee a repeat of the first leg as he claims that Manchester City will be out to secure the necessary three points on Wednesday and they will eventually get the job done.

“Man City unbeaten at the Etihad this season. They’ve also won 17 of their 18 games against Villa at the Etihad. Villa are trying to get that fourth position. City didn’t score at the Etihad against Arsenal – the first time that’s happened in 57 games. That’s not going to happen again.”

Savage added: “Surely Man City will score. I think it will be a decent game. Villa will get a goal but I’m going to go with City 3-1.”
