Man City Top Players To Miss Liverpool Clash Over Injury

Man City can be without some of their star players when they visit Anfield next Sunday to take on the league leader Liverpool in a match that could decide the winner of this campaign’s league title.

The Cityzens are in second position, a point behind Liverpool and a point above Arsenal in a three-horse Premier League title race. However, many football stars could miss the anticipated match between the Cityzens and Jurgen Klopp’s men.

For Manchester City, Jack Grealish will likely be unavailable for selection on Sunday as a result of the injury he sustained during the Emirate FA Cup clash with Luton Town in February.

Also, Jeremy Doku was not on the bench during the 3-1 win against Copenhagen in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match. It was gathered that the Belgian was not fit enough to take part in the match, therefore, his availability against Liverpool remains uncertain.

“He had some muscular problems so we did not want to take the risk,” Guardiola revealed during the pre-match conference on Wednesday.

Matheus Nunes is another Man City player who may miss the trip to Anfield. The Portuguese started against Copenhagen but was substituted due to injury. He had his fingers twisted at the 74 minutes of the game.

The Premier League champions will however be able to call on some other players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, and Nathan Ake who were all unused substitutes against Copenhagen.

Liverpool on the other hand could start Mohamed Salah against Pep Guardiola’s side as the Egyptian returns to full training after a long time out due to injury.
