The Cityzens have the most iconic year ever in the club’s history in 2023. They won the English Premier League title for the third consecutive year, became the European Champions for the first time, and defeated their neighbour, Manchester United in the FA Cup final to complete the treble.

And Rodri is one of the players who were instrumental to the success, in fact, the Spanish international scored the only goal in the UEFA Champions League final against Inter, therefore, being named the Spanish most valuable footballer wouldn’t be a surprise to those watching the midfielder doing his job.

Rodri started his football career at Villarreal and Atletico Madrid before Pep Guardiola bought him as a replacement for Fernandinho but eventually became the first choice even towards the end of the Brazilian years at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old has become undroppable for the City boss and Transfermarkt put him at the top of the list of top-valued Spanish footballers. The website revealed that it will cost 110 million euros to lure the midfielder out of Manchester City.

Therefore, he has occupied the top position, knocking Pedri, valued at 100 million, from the top. With more spectacular performances for the City side, Rodri’s value might increase to justify his importance among the City players.

Other players who have occupied the Spanish most valuable footballer in the past include Isco, Saúl Ñíguez, Asensio, and Gavi – all having a market value estimate of 90 million euros.
