Man City Ready To Sign £80m Forward To Replace Mahrez

Man City have one of the best, if not the best squad in the English top-flight league and could add a talented £80 million forward to the squad in the summer, according to David Ornstein.

Despite the numerous number of talented players at City, Pep Guardiola’s team lacks a natural left winger after the departure of Riyad Mahrez and the inability to keep Cole Palmer at the club as he decided to join Chelsea last summer.

In recent days, both Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden have operated at the left wing, therefore, Man City could be in the market searching for a natural player to occupy the space in the summer.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Wolverhampton Wanderer winger, Pedro Neto, valued at £80 million is one of the players likely to join Manchester City as the Premier League champions have shown great interest in him.

Ornstein added that while Man City would like to bring the winger to the Etihad, many other Premier League clubs have also shown interest and are ready to negotiate with Wolverhampton over a possible deal for the Portuguese.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and (potentially) Manchester United are believed to be keen on securing the 23-year-old’s signature, who scored 3 goals and contributed 11 assists in just 19 appearances this campaign.

However, Pedro Neto’s injury records will be a great concern for Man City and other Premier League clubs interested in his service. The forward has spent a good deal of time on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

Since he moved to Wolve, the Portuguese has suffered serious knee and ankle injuries and had fitness issues on different occasions.
