Man City Favourite To Sign Golden Ball Winner, American Wonderkid

Manchester City have emerged as the favourite to sign a Golden Ball winner as the team continue to build the future by strengthening their academy.

Recently, the City Academy has become one of the best across Europe and the reigning Premier League champions would not stop investing in young players either at the youth or senior level.

Pep Guardiola has given young players the opportunity to showcase their talent at the top level. After Phil Foden, 23, became an important squad member a few seasons ago, Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb have been integrated into the team.

Also, Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, and Josko Gvardiol who are in their early 20s could be described as future players if the management can keep them at the club for a long period.

According to the Athletic and the popular transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola’s side have emerged as the favourite to sign American wonderkid Cavan Sullivan who was named the Golden Ball winner in the CONCACAF U-15 Championships after leading the US team to victory.

The 14-year-old wonderkid is currently playing football in the Philadelphia Union’s development system and there is nothing like a formal professional football agreement between him and the team.

He has reportedly gained the attention of many European teams. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund are shown interest in his signature but Manchester City are the favourite to sign him.

According to the report, due to the fact that Sullivan does not possess an EU passport, he will be loaned to another City Football Group Club, Lommel SK, in Belgium when he reaches 16 and won’t be able to play for City until he is 18.
