Man City reportedly defeated their opponents in the battle for the signature of Cavan Sullivan who is regarded as another wonderkid to look out for in the future.

The 14-year-old teenager will become the latest player to join the City Football Group (CFG) even though he might not move to Manchester City until he turns 18.

He could however join one of the other clubs owned by the football group which include Girona in La Liga and New York City FC in the MLS, as well as a number of other teams across Europe, South America, and Asia.

The youngster has attracted interest from many European top clubs including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and their Bundesliga rivals, Borussia Dortmund. However, Fabrizio Romano reported that Man City have agreed a deal with the Philadelphia Union to sign him.

Sullivan played his first professional match for Philadelphia early this month after leading the USNMNT Under-15s to the 2023 CONCACAF Championship, where he was honoured with the player of the tournament.

It’s believed that the teenage boy will not play for the Premier League champions until he celebrates his 18th birthday but he may have the opportunity to meet the City squad in the summer of 2025 when the team will be in the United States for their pre-season tour.

Similar to the Sullivan deal, the Sky Blues have reportedly completed a transfer deal for winger Timeo Whisker from Cardiff City alongside attacking midfielder Finlay Gorman from Leeds United.

The Cityzens in recent years have invested in their youth team and more youngsters are expected to join Manchester City in the coming days.
