Man City 2-0 Newcastle: City Create Another Special Record

Manchester City created another special record after defeating Newcastle United in the quarter-final of the Emirate FA Cup to book their space at Wembley in the later stage of the competition.

The Cityzens won convincingly and created a new history for the club by becoming the first team in FA Cup history to reach the semi-final stage in six consecutive campaigns.

Manchester City are the defending champions and would have the opportunity to retain the title as they remain the favourite to lift the cup once again. Pep Guardiola’s men have become ruthless in the competition, winning with an aggregate score of 33-3 in their last ten matches.

This season, they have scored 14 goals. They defeated Huddersfield Town 5-0 before a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. They followed it with a comfortable 6-2 victory against Luton Town and 2 goals against Newcastle United completed the goals and create another special record.

Bernardo Silva was incredible against Newcastle United. the Portuguese scored the 2 goals of the encounter. Silva scored the first goal at 13 minutes, his shot hit a Newcastle United player and deflected into the net.

At the 31 minutes, the Portuguese found the back of the net to secure the crucial winning for his side.

The City players will shift their attention to the forthcoming international break after which they will start arguably their most crucial part of this campaign. They will welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium immediately after the break.

Days later, they will travel to Spain to take on Real Madrid in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League and this Spanish giants will also visit Etihad a few later.
