Man City 1-1 Chelsea: Frustrated Erling Haaland Reacts Angrily After The Match

Erling Haaland reacted angrily as Manchester City survived what could have been described as a painful defeat at the Etihad Stadium for the first time in the last 15 months. They fought hard to secure a 1-1 draw with Chelsea which sit at the middle of the league table.

Erling Haaland

It was not Erling Haaland’s best day as he struggled to put the ball into the back of the net despite having many clear chances to do so. The worst moment for the Norwegian came in the 78th minute when he missed the golden opportunity to cancel out Raheem Sterling’s first-half goal.

Kevin De Bruyne swung in a left-footed cross and Haaland evaded his man to have a free run at a header that he mistimed horribly and played the ball over.

After the final whistle, the Norwegian let his emotions get the better of him as he appeared to bat away a cameraman. Similarly, his frustration was visibly shown during the match, especially when he failed to convert his chances.

Meanwhile, Rodri once again came to the rescue after 83 minutes to give Pep Guardiola’s side a point and spare them a first defeat since December 6. However, the result put a dent on their 100% winning record in 2024 as the 11-match winning streak finally ended.

Also, the reigning Premier League champions have missed the opportunity to top the league even if they win their game in hand against Brentford.

They are now in the third position, two points behind Arsenal and four points behind Liverpool, the league leader in what could be described as a three-horse title race.

Chelsea on the other hand remains in the 10th position levelled on point with Brighton and Wolverhampton that occupy the 9th and the 11th position respectively.
