Injury Update: Kevin De Bruyne, Other Top Players Could Play Against Arsenal

Manchester City could have some of their star players available for the forthcoming Premier League match against Arsenal as Kevin De Bruyne and other players returned to training earlier than expected.

De Bruyne has not fixtured for the Premier League champions since he struggled against Liverpool at Anfield and got angry when he was substituted by the City boss.

However, his failure to take part in the City 2-0 victory against Newcastle United in the Emirate FA Cup has nothing to do with his public outburst with Pep Guardiola, it was due to an injury crisis.

This also prevented the midfield maestro from joining his national teammates for the international break. He decided to work on his fitness and it seems the Belgian is ready to play again.

Like Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish was also pictured in training and the England international could also make a return against Arsenal.

Grealish has failed to replicate his last season’s performance when he was crucial to Man City’s treble-winning success. The Englishman continues to have limited game time due to a recurring injury crisis.

“I think everybody knows about the quality from Jack. He’s not a new player in the Premier League, playing many years for Aston Villa and here,” Pep Guardiola said via Cityxtra while commenting on how important Grealish is to his team.

“He’s an exceptional player for many, many things and has the ability to make a lot of extra passes, and when it’s at his feet not just extra passes – dribbling and assists, and sometimes goals.”

The City boss continued, “And he has to be fit and ready because the quality to keep the ball, and extra passes and making the team tighter and closer between each other defensively and offensively is really, really, really good.”
