“He’s Main Candidate” – Man City Player Chosen To Win Big Prize

Phil Foden has been identified as the potential Premier League Player of the Year Award as former Liverpool forward, John Barnes described the Man City player as the ‘main candidate’ for the prize.

Foden is currently having the best season of his football career, he has exceeded his previous goal scoring record and cemented himself as one of England’s most exceptional players this season. The graduate of City academy, he demonstrated remarkable prowess by contributing 21 goals and 10 assists for his teammates across all competitions.

Regarding the prospective recipient of the forthcoming Premier League Player of the Season prize, John Barnes highlighted several players who are currently delivering an outstanding performance. However, he emphasized that Foden remains the primary contender for this prestigious award.

The former Liverpool player identified the sensational Aston Villa striker, Ollie Watkins, Chelsea player, Cole Palmer, and many others as the possible winner.

“There aren’t really any outstanding candidates at Arsenal or Liverpool, so Phil Foden is one name in the frame. I also think that Ollie Watkins should be in the conversation given the season he is having for Aston Villa,” Barnes said while speaking to Getting Casino.

“Cole Palmer, from an individual perspective, he has done really well, but his club are languishing in mid-table. He has been outstanding for his club, but does he deserve the individual award given Chelsea’s form? I’m not so sure. I think Phil Foden is probably the main candidate.”

Interestingly, Barnes is not the only one who thinks Phil Foden deserves the award for his contribution to his team this season.

“I think he is a contender, like many others,” Pep declared. “There are many, many players who play really, really good all season. Not just Phil.

“But I think he can be a contender, for sure, because of the numbers, consistency and the level of his game. Always he has [an] incredible work ethic.”

Thierry Henry Heaps Praises On Foden Calls Him A ‘World Class’ Player

Former Arsenal and Barcelona player, Thierry Henry was full of praise for the England international last week after his screamer against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Henry said without a doubt Phil has taken his game to the next level and can now be described as a world-class player. He also commended him for becoming Man City most outstanding player in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.

“What I would say about Phil Foden this year is that when Erling Haaland is not there or Kevin de bruyne is injured, now he puts this team on his shoulders,” he said during match commentary on CBS via Sportskeeda.

“Now we can start talking world-class because you put your team on your shoulders this guy is now world class.”
