Liverpool sit at the top of the table with a point above the Cityzens. Therefore, Pep Guardiola’s side will have the opportunity to overtake Jurgen Klopp’s men with a victory on Sunday. Despite having more matches to play, the Sunday game could influence the winner of the league title.

The determination to make history in the English top-flight league by becoming the first team to win four league titles consecutively will motivate Manchester City, while the plan to give Jurgen Klopp a befitting farewell with a league title will serve as motivation for the host.

According to Sportskeeda, while speaking ahead of the anticipated match, Erling Haaland revealed that Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is the main guy at Liverpool, claiming that he loves facing such an individual on the pitch and that Sunday’s encounter will be a pleasure for him.

The Norwegian who joined Manchester City a year and a half ago described the defender as an unreal guy. He explained that he learnt that the Netherland international is also a very nice creature.

“He’s the main guy in Liverpool. I said it for many years, he is unreal and also I heard he is a really nice guy so that also helps,” Erling Haaland said while speaking to TNT Sports.

Yeah, he’s a monster and yeah, I like to play against players like him because then you really test yourself so what can I say, it’s going to be a nice game.”

Haaland will hope to continue his impressive performance in the Premier League by adding to his 18 goals. The City striker won the Golden Boot in his first season in England and he can go on to win it again this campaign.
