Give Him Ballon d’Or – Man City Fans Name Who Deserves Best Award

According to some Man City fans, Phil Foden has done enough to be nominated and even win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award. The 23-year-old Englishman has been described as a talented world-class player with a bright future ahead of him.

Rodri declared world's best player in his position and in Premier League

In this campaign, Foden has taken his game to another fascinating level. He has graduated from being a backup player to one of the most important squad members at the Etihad.

City manager, Pep Guardiola during an interview a few weeks ago named the player as one of the most brilliant players he has ever managed. The claim could come as a surprise considering the fact that Guardiola has coached many world superstars, including Lionel Messi.

However, Pep Guardiola’s words could be said to be true with the performance of Phil Foden. The City Academy graduate has contributed 31 G/A this season.

And the latest of his incredible displays came last night against Aston Villa at the Etihad. He scored 3 goals to handed over a comfortable victory to his side despite that the first 40 minutes of the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

As a result of his performance, many football pundits have showered praises on the England international and some Man City fans believe that he deserves to win the next edition of the Ballon d’Or award.

One of the City fans said: “C’mon, just give Phil Foden the Ballon d’Or.”

Another boasted: “Was laughed at when I said Foden will win a Ballon d’Or.” A third declared: “I’ve seen enough give Foden the Ballon d’Or.”

Man City fans are not only those who think that Phil Foden will soon win the Ballon d’Or award, Brentford manager Thomas Frank while speaking after the City superstar scored three goals against his side said Foden is the closest English player who could win the award.

“Phil Foden is a very good player,” said Frank. “For me, he’s the closest England get to a Ballon d’Or winner in the future. I think he has that potential, that level.”
