Gary Neville Tells Arsenal How To Beat Man City At Etihad

Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville has given Arsenal the hint to defeat or stand a chance against Manchester City when they visit Etihad Stadium on the 31st of March.

Mike Arteta will lead his team to Etihad Stadium in what could be described as the most important match of the season for the Gunners and the host.

Manchester City have not lost a single match in 2024 and are a different team whenever they play in front of their fans at the Etihad Stadium. They have defeated many top European clubs at the stadium in recent months, and only a few clubs managed to get a draw whenever they visit Pep Guardiola’s side at home.

Therefore, Arsenal will have to be at their best to secure a victory at the Stadium where they have suffered many defeats in recent years.

Speaking ahead of the match, Gary Neville believes that Arsenal will stand a chance if they manage to keep Rodri out of the game. According to him, Rodri has become one of the most influential players at the Etihad, so whenever the Spain international struggles, the whole City team always find it difficult to secure a victory.

The former Red Devils player told the Stick to Football podcast: “Do you know who should be man-marked? Rodri.

“I think someone should be on him and stopping him getting the ball. Rodri, I think if you stop him at City, I’m not saying you stop everything, you don’t. But you stop a lot.

“If you stop Rodri, you stop a lot. His influence on their team is unbelievable, how he just links everything together.”

Rodri’s impacts on the pitch in recent years have contributed to City’s success. With Rodri on the pitch, a victory or a draw is certain for the Premier League champions. They have not tasted defeat in more than 60 games that the Spaniard started in major competitions.
