Football Legends Predict Winner Of Man City vs Chelsea Match

Football fans across the world expect another interesting Man City vs Chelsea match on Saturday when the Blues visit Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium where they have not lost a single game in a while.

Man City vs Chelsea EPL matchday

In November 2023, the two teams played an entertaining match that would go as one of the most interesting matches of this campaign. It ended in a 4-4 draw as Cole Palmer, a City academy graduate now playing for Chelsea denied the Cityzens all three points by scoring a last-minute penalty.

Manchester City are in great form at the moment. They have won their last 11 games across competitions. They beat Copenhagen away 3-1 in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg in their last game. Chelsea, on the other hand, defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 away in the Premier League in their last game.

Predicting the possible outcome of the match, Pundit Mark Lawrenson claimed that Chelsea have shown signs of improvement recently but Manchester City will be a difficult opponent for them to beat at home.

“Chelsea were abysmal in the first half against Crystal Palace on Monday and they obviously changed something around which was clever from Mauricio Pochettino’s point of view. They won comfortably in the end,” he said in his column for Paddy Power according to Sportskeeda.

“I watched Manchester City play Copenhagen in the Champions League the other night and they could have had six, seven, or eight so they’re in great form. I fancy City to win this one.”

Similarly, in his comment on Man City vs Chelsea clash, Steve Sidwell, claimed that City will defeat his former club 2-0.

Sidwell who played 25 times for the Blues in the 2007-08 season, said on The Peter Crouch Podcast that City are in great form at this moment and he couldn’t say the same thing about Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

“City are on the rampage. They are chasing the pack and on the tails. They are performing well. Chelsea, what’s going on there? I’m not sure. There’s still a few hurdles to jump there.

“I’m going to go for a City 2-0 win.”
