Manchester City striker Erling Haaland believes that Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard will improve Pep Guardiola’s side should the Norwegian decide to make a move to Etihad Stadium.

Both Odegaard and Erling Haaland have shared many best moments at the national level but the case is different in their respective clubs. Haaland has become a direct rival to his Norwegian national teammate since he joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

The striker and his team made sure that Arsenal did not win the Premier League last campaign despite that the season was one of the best in their recent history.

Mikel Arteta’s side, captained by Odegaard led the league table for the most parts of the season before Manchester City overtook them and eventually won the title for the third consecutive time.

Similarly, the Gunners currently sit at the top of the league table with a point above the Cityzens who are hoping to win the title for the fourth time in a row.

Speaking ahead of the league match between the two clubs, Erling Haaland believes that the Arsenal captain has what it takes to improve Manchester City even though it may be impossible for him to switch from the London club to the blue side of Manchester.

When asked if Odegaard will add value to Manchester City with many star players, Haaland said the mirror: “Yes, I think so. There’s a good player and a player that plays for our rivals. He’s just signed a new contract, so it’s not a topic, but at City, we have a lot of the best players in the world.”

Despite playing for rival clubs in England, Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard have developed a close relationship at the national level. The Arsenal captain has on different occasions claimed that he has a close relationship with the Manchester City striker.
