Arsenal Will Have To Suffer – Rodri Speaks Tough Ahead EPL Clash

Manchester City midfielder Rodri said Arsenal will have to suffer a lot if they plan to be ahead of Pep Guardiola’s men in the Premier League title race.

Rodri - Man City

Rodri and his teammates will welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in a crucial Premier League match which can decide the fate of both teams in the title race. The Gunners are the league leaders at the moment but only a point separates them from the Cityzens who occupy the third position.

Arsenal in recent years have become a team to beat in the Premier League. They occupied the league’s top spot for most days last campaign but were unable to hold on to the final day as they succumbed to pressure from the Sky Blues.

Similarly, they are having another fantastic season, winning their first league match against Pep Guardiola’s men at the Emirate Stadium in many years.

Ahead of the return fixture at the Etihad, Rodri said Manchester City must defeat Arsenal, claiming that they must show their visitors they are still a team to beat in the league.

“In terms of points, there are still nine games so even if we draw or lose nothing is done but we know with the difference right now, we must win,” Rodri said according to Metro.

“The most important thing will be the mental one, for us and for the opponent. To show them that we are here again and we beat you again and if you want to keep [ahead of] us in the title race you have to suffer a lot.

“This is something that will be important. I encourage my team on Sunday to be completely focussed and know that if we beat them it will be hard for them and better for us in the title race.”
