£85M Rated City Star Could Leave Manchester City This Summer

Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez would be open to joining Paris Saint-Germain if they give him a “good contract” and guarantees over playing time, according to CaughtOffside.com.

The website claim that PSG and Barcelona have both made signing the Argentinian international a priority for the summer transfer window.

However, Barca are unlikely to have the funds required to match the €100m (£85m) that City would demand for Alvarez, leaving just one team in contention for the player’s signature.

It is believed that City have received an enquiry from PSG for Alvarez but they are said to have told the French club in no uncertain terms that the 24-year-old is not for sale.

The Premier League champions deem the forward a key member of the squad, and they have no intention of losing him this summer.

The striker has publicly stated that he is “happy” at the Etihad in recent weeks but respected sources paint a different picture, with it being suggested that he has become unsettled in recent months.

Despite starting 39 games last season. Alvarez is said to be keen on having a more important role. His omission from the starting lineup in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid may have influenced his thinking.

Those murmurings have consequently led to links to Chelsea, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG, but it seems the latter are the only realistic destination currently. From City’s perspective, though, he isn’t on the market.
